3-D Flower Card

Okay!  I totally have to be honest about this idea, I got the idea from somewhere in on the internet, I don’t remember where, but it is really neat!

Check it out and then I’ll explain what I did!

Here’s what I did…  I cut a large scalloped circle out nine times.  I used patterned paper so I also cut one scalloped circle out of chipboard, for sturdiness .  I glued one of the paper scallops to the chipboard scallop.  Then, I folded each of the remaining 8 scalloped circles three times in half.   I glued each folded piece to the base in a circular fashion.  I inked the edges and glued a button in the center.   The sentiment is from Stampin’ Up’s Smarty Pants set.  The paper is from K& Company and the ribbon is from Stampin’ Up.  Thanks for looking!

Farm Boy Layout

Today’s layout is of my son and one of his favorite things…his daddy’s tractor!

farm boy page 3

The tractor and the title are cut from the Cricut Country Life cartridge.  The paper is DCWV.  I love the wood grain paper.  It really looks like wood!  I changed the title from “I love farm boys” to “I love my farm boy”!

Wanted! Layout

Today’s post is a pretty simple layout.  The picture was taken at preschool.  I just had to add a background and a title and that was that!  Enjoy!

Wanted page

The paper is from the DCWV Boys stack.  I love that stack, especially the cowboy papers.  The horseshoe was cut out from another piece of paper from the stack.   The title was cut using SCAL and it’s a font called “Western”!

Happy Birthday Layout

birthday page

For today’s layout I used several different design techniques.  My favorite would have to be the Shrinky Dinks and Bic Mark-It pens.   Here’s a closer look at one of the elements I made with them…birthday page 2

First, I cut the Shrinky Dink material (you can buy it at most craft stores, I got mine at Michael’s) using the Simply Charmed cartridge.  Second, I colored the cake with Bic Mark-It pens.  These pens are awesome!  They are permanent and they dry pretty fast, so there’s no big mess.  Third, I used a heat tool to shrink the material.  Once the Shrinky Dink is shrunk, the colors become darker and more vivid.  You can also color the Shrinky Dink after it’s shrunk!  Boy, that was a mouthful!!!

Here’s a sneak of something I made with my birthday present!  More projects will hopefully follow using my new toy, I mean tool!  I had to send it back to Provo Craft and I am still waiting on a replacement.  I was able to print this fun border out, but it did not cut.

The birdie is another Shrinky Dink colored with Bic Mark-It pens.

I used K & Company patterned paper for the background.  The solid paper is Bazzill’s.  The font was cut with Make the Cut on the Cricut, as are the word balloons.  The ribbon is Stampin’ Up.  Enjoy!

Do You See What I See? Layout

I am always amazed at the pictures I find on my camera!  Little hands are always taking pictures of their world and it is just wonderful!  I just love to preserve their life in their perspective!  Here’s some more pictures (I’ve shared some in the past) my 4 year old son took!   Enjoy, be inspired and God bless!

The paper is from the All About Boys stack from DCWV and the die cuts are from Create a Critter.  The font is from the Stamping cartridge, I used several different kinds to give it a more playful look!

My first Easel Card!

I made this card for the monthly card swap I am in.  This is the first time I’ve tried this, it was fairly easy and there are several YouTube videos showing how to make one.  I used one of my favorite new Stampin Up stamps from the Smarty Pants set.  The patterned paper is from K & Company.  Enjoy!

Birthday Card

Today’s card was inspired by my Scrappy Friend Stephanie!  She got a label maker for Christmas and made me a label to show me what she could do with it.  The label says, “Hippo Birdie Two Ewe”.  So, since my DH’s birthday was coming up I used the label for his card.  He didn’t originally “get it” but once explained he thought it was funny!

birthday card 2I used the Circuit cartridges Create a Critter for the Hippo and the Ewes and Simply Charmed for the Birdie.  I used the flower from the Hippo to decorate the Birdie.  All patterned paper is K & Company.  The card base is Stampin Up and the Ewes are cut using Bazzill’s.   I don’t know why the picture looks so pink, it is the same card! : )birthday card

Missing Camera Cord

Hello!  I had never intended to have this big of a gap in my blog post!  The Christmas season was very hectic for us and I had every intention of getting some blog posts uploaded this week.  I took a few pictures of some projects I have been working on but last night when I wanted to upload the pictures, I couldn't find the camera cord!  I will find it (I can't get my Christmas pictures printed w/o it!) and in the meantime, I am trying to figure out how to upload my projects.  So, thank you for your patience and stay tuned, there will hopefully be postings again starting today!
