One of My Favorite Layouts!

 

My daughter and a friend decided to tie dye a shirt for each girl in their “group”.  I have to admit I was a little nervous about letting them do it at my house.  I had heard horror stories of how washing machines would somehow get color in it and ruin good clothes.  So, after some research and much pleading, I let them do it!  I have to say that I am the “crafty” mom, so they would have been confused if I said no!  I did find dye that can be rinsed out in the bathtub (my fabric shower curtain is now tie dyed in a few spots!).  Anyway!  This has got to be one of my all time favorite layouts because it’s my daughter being “crafty” too!

The patterned paper is DCWV and solid paper for the base is Bazzils.  The die cuts are from Rock Princess and are colored in with the Imagine.  I used some Stickles to add some “glam”!  I absolutely love this fiber/sequins strip at the bottom.  I only bought a yard of it and wish I’d gotten much more!  I got it at a CK Convention, here’s a close up…

“Going on a Bear Hunt” Layout

 

During a vacation to Gatlinburg, my fearless husband spotted a black bear walking through the parking lot of our condo.  While everyone else was terrified, my brave husband followed the bear with his camera and got some really neat shots!  I love these pictures!

The bear and the phrase on the sign are from the Animal Kingdom Cricut cartridge and the sign is from Walk in my Garden.  The title is cut using Alphalicious, my favorite Cricut font.  All paper is DCWV (Indian Summer Stack).  The photo corners and red brackets are from American Crafts.  Thanks for looking and have a blessed day!

 

“Puppy Love” Layout

Whenever I was little and my mom would tell me about how she met my dad and how they came to be a couple, she always used the words “Puppy Love”.  I only thought it was appropriate to use this as the title for the dating years layout! 

All cuts are from the Sweetheart cartridge. 

I love this little puppy!  Her patch is flocked and Glossy Affects were used on her nose and tongue.  Isn’t she so cute?  I used the Gypsy/Imagine update to flood fill the images and print and cut with the Imagine.  This update is great, not as good as it could be, but it’s still great!

Okay, can I just say, I love this cut too from Sweethearts?  I don’t think there is one cut on the Sweethearts cartridge that I don’t love!   I pop-dotted the balloons and stickled and used embroidery floss for the strings.  The ribbon is from my stash, I’m pretty sure it is from Hobby Lobby.

A Very Special Project

Today’s post is the start to many post to come of a very special project I’ve been working on.  This July will be my parent’s 40th wedding anniversary.  I wanted to make something special for them.  So, I made a scrapbook that will be titled, “The Story of Us”.  I haven’t actually put the book together yet.  The pages are without photos so my mom and dad can pick pictures and also do the journaling to tell their story for generations to come!

So, on to the first page!

The tree is cut from Create a Critter, the base of the tags is cut from TBBM, the title is cut with MTC and I used a Fiskars punch for the grass and a Stampin’ Up punch for the top of the tags. 

The tree trunk is embossed with a Tim Holtz embossing folder, “Notebook”.  I actually put the tree inside the folder on the diagonal so it looked a little less like a “notebook”.  Everything is inked with Ranger Distress Ink in Walnut.

For the entire book I used paper from the  “La Crème” DCWV stack as the base for each layout and for some of the photo mats.

Picnic Layout

 

I have been totally neglecting my blog lately.  I have been overwhelmed with trying to figure out my Imagine and I have a project I’m working on for my parents.  Those two things have consumed most of my crafting time, which isn’t a lot of time anyway. 

Here’s a layout using the Imagine.  The cartridge I used was the Imagine more cartridge.  I love using my Imagine, now that I’ve figured it out (for the most part!!).

Here’s a couple of pictures of the individual elements on the cartridge.  I switched some of the elements up a little.  For example, on this journaling tag I changed the scalloped shape to a strawberry.  I also changed the background to the tablecloth-looking material to match the theme.  Whenever you change things up, you have to cut in layers instead of a solid image.  I also used some Glossy Affects to add some shine to the strawberry and the butterflies.

I also changed the border to match the journaling tag.  I love that you can make everything coordinate so well with the Imagine.  The plaid background paper is from the DCWV “All About Boys” stack and the solid blue paper is Bazzills cardstock.

The title is cut from Make the Cuts.  I know there is so much drama associated with MTC and SCAL right now, but I simply love MTC when it comes to layout titles.  I use these programs to simply enhance my creative projects.  Okay, ‘nuff said, right?!

Farm Boy Layout

Today’s layout is of my son and one of his favorite things…his daddy’s tractor! 

The tractor and the title are cut from the Cricut Country Life cartridge.  The paper is DCWV.  I love the wood grain paper.  It really looks like wood!  I changed the title from “I love farm boys” to “I love my farm boy”!

School Days Layout

This is another simple layout using DCWV Grade School stack.  “school” is cut with Graphically Speaking and the owl is cut from Paisley.  I absolutely love this little owl.  I have cut him many times in many different colors! 

At the River Layout

Today’s layout is from a fun trip they took to see some family “at the river”.  A family member has a house “at the river” so the girls always get excited when they know where going to see this family “at the river”!  I used the Tahiti stack from DCWV and Life’s a Beach Cricut cartridge.  Oh, and STICKLES!!!

Cousins Layout

 

The picture from today’s layout is pretty old, like 10 years old!  It’s from a Easter gathering we had with my DH’s family.  The picture is after the egg hunt and has several 2nd and 3rd cousins.

So, I was frugal and cut everything out of the center of the paper so I could use the paper as the background!  I just hate to waste paper!

Patterned paper is DCWV.  Title and diecuts are from the Nursery Rhymes Cricut cartridge.  I used some jewels to bling it up! 

Sisters Layout

Today’s layout is of my middle girls. They insisted on having their picture made together, so I thought I would definitely have to scrap it for both of them! 

Paper is DCWV.  The embellishment strip is from a swap, so I’m not sure what was used to make it.  The title is cut from Nursery Rhymes and Stickled.

A Christmas Layout

Today’s post is a layout to get you thinking about scrapbooking Christmas!  Paper is from DCWV Premium Christmas Stack.  The diecuts are from the Christmas solutions cartridge (free if you register a gypsy before Dec. 31st).  I thought the cuts were kind of plain, so of course I added some stickles!  Enjoy!

This journaling circle was already on the paper!  Love paper that makes scrapping easy!  I did add some glossy accents to the buttons to make them look more buttonish (if that’s a word!).  The font is Nursery Rhymes.

 

First Home Layout

Today’s post uses one of my favorite cartridges, Sweethearts. 

Patterned paper is DCWV.  I love to use their paper as the background because it is so beautiful that I just need to add a few embellishments.  I love that elegant can also be simple!

“First Home” is from Alphalicious (my favorite Cricut Font) and it’s welded to the house.

Today’s card was made using DCWV paper, PaperTrey Ink ribbon and stamps from Clear Dollar Stamps.  I also used a Martha Stewart punch for the mat.  I have quite a few stamp sets but I never really know how to color the image.  For this one I used pastels.  Hope you like it and are inspired to go create!

Bitter Sweet Scrapbook Layout

Okay...So, those of you who have followed my blog know that lately I've been digging in the old pictures going down memory lane.  Today's post is the same!  I made a layout of pictures that were taken the day we moved to Illinois.  It was an emotional page to make and the pictures stir all kinds of feelings in me.  These are the reason I wanted to make a page, so future generations would know about that day.  I know I loved to hear stories from my grandparents about "when they moved to Nashville".  So, without further ado...I invite you to see part of the Nieweglowski Family history...

The beautiful paper is DCWV from the Summer Dreams stack.  With such beautiful paper is is simple to make a lovely layout with pictures and a tag for journalling.  The title is actually supposed to be the sign that says, "The people of Illinois welcome you". 

I stickled the birds!  Aren't they lovely?

I thought one tag would be enough, but I was wrong!  I had to compromise and add another tag that slides behind the larger tag.  I probably could've added many tags to talk about all that was going on that day!  Enjoy and be inspired and maybe feel a little more in touch with us as you see our history!  Ask me to tell you about the experience of moving here!  Boy, what a testimony!

One More Layout with the Fall DCWV Stack from 2009!

Okay!  I love this stack!  It is so pretty!  When you use beautiful paper, it is so easy to make a simple layout that looks wonderful!  I have lots of scrapbooking to catch up on and have found that this is the way to go! The font is cut with SCAL and the Cricut.  Enjoy and be inspired!

Who Loves You Layout

Here's a simple layout using a picture of me and my dd.  The paper is DCWV Summer stack and the light blue paper is Bazzils.  I cut the title out with SCAL.  The adorable owl is from the Paisley cricut cartridge.  I had made several of the owls for a swap on the Cricut message board and I had several extra.  The colors matched the paper perfectly!  I love it when that happens ; )

I added some bling and there ya go!  Easy as pie when you have coordinating paper and embellishments.

4'Wheelin' Layout

Here's a layout using SVGCuts' Camping at Fox Ridge collection and DCWV Fall Stack (2009).  I absolutely love the paper in that stack!  Some are glittered, some are foiled, all are beautiful!  When you find beautiful coordinating paper and die cuts, it makes putting a page together a snap!

This jeep is so cool!  I used brads to make it look a little more realistic!  The title is cut with SCAL.  The "Roughin' It" caption is also from the SVGCuts' collection.  Enjoy and be inspired!  I have so much fun looking at old pictures and creating layouts with them!  I hope you will too!
