“You are my Sonshine” Layout

I have been busy trying to figure out a new toy.  You will see what it is when you look at this layout!  My DH, who loves high tech stuff, saw me staring at YouTube videos with this “toy” in it and said, “why don’t you get one of those?”.  I said, “well, it’s kinda pricey and I don’t really need it”.  I’m sure you ladies have all had this conversation with your fellas before, so I don’t need to continue word for word!  So, being the loving husband he is, he took me to Michael’s and said, “just get it”.  So I did!  So, I’ve had it for about a month now.  I love it!  The first one had to be sent back, it didn’t work out of the box.  I have watched a few many YouTube videos and have learned much.  So, without further ado…

Yesterday I came across a really neat website, http://www.myscrapcloset.blogspot.com/.   She is hosting a challenge like the gals on the Bitten by the Bug site.  Each challenge is for a specific cut.  I love this idea as I am just learning how to use cuts from the Imagine.  The first challenge is this cute sunshine from the Imagine More cartridge. 

The details of the layout are…Sun, border and frame are from Imagine More.  The title at the bottom are cut with MTC, the font is Minya Nouvelle.  The cardstock is Bazzill’s.  I used some buttons and some Stickles to embellish.  Enjoy!

Versa Mark Ink Project

For today’s post, I made a card with a Versa Mark Stamp pad.  I have had this stamp pad for years…the same one has  lasted this long!  If you are a rubber stamper I think it’s a must have!  I used a Stampin’ Up wheel to make the background for the card, and then a larger, matching stamp for the center. 

The phrase is also Stampin’ Up, it’s from the Swirly Verses set.  So, as you can see in the picture, the Versa Mark ink creates a watermark affect on the paper.  One of my favorite parts of using this ink is that you don’t have to worry about having a certain color ink, it always matches!  In the example, you can see I used light paper and dark paper and both work wonderfully!  Here’s a close up!  Hope you are inspired and God Bless!
