Our Years in Texas Layout

Today’s layout is cut with MTC.

On several of the layouts there are hidden journaling tags.  I cut all of the tags exactly the same so that my mom could put them where ever she needed.

I love this simple star brads from Making Memories!  They added the perfect touch to this layout!

The Wedding Layout

Today’s post is of the double-page layout I made for my parent’s wedding day.  I used the Sweethearts cartridge for all the die cuts.  I used MS Word to create the title and the journaling block.

DSC05503DSC05504DSC05506DSC05508

My dad wore a gold, patterned tux!  I guess that was the style!  I used the Devine Swirls Cuttlebug embossing folder and some gold embossing powder to give it a more realistic look.  The background for the “Mr. & Mrs.” is cut with an Imagine stock image and colored using the Best Friends cartridge.  The cake is also embossed with the Swiss Dots folder.  All bling is Stickles!  Enjoy and be inspired!

“Marry Me” Layout

DSC05538

This layout was made using the Sweethearts cartridge.  The title was cut and colored with the Imagine, using the Best Friends cartridge for the yellow pattern and the phrase from Sweethearts.  Here’s a close up of the couple…

I adhered a jewel to the ring to give it some real-life bling!!!  Take care and God Bless!

“Puppy Love” Layout

Whenever I was little and my mom would tell me about how she met my dad and how they came to be a couple, she always used the words “Puppy Love”.  I only thought it was appropriate to use this as the title for the dating years layout!

DSC05535

All cuts are from the Sweetheart cartridge.

DSC05536I love this little puppy!  Her patch is flocked and Glossy Affects were used on her nose and tongue.  Isn’t she so cute?  I used the Gypsy/Imagine update to flood fill the images and print and cut with the Imagine.  This update is great, not as good as it could be, but it’s still great!

DSC05537

Okay, can I just say, I love this cut too from Sweethearts?  I don’t think there is one cut on the Sweethearts cartridge that I don’t love!   I pop-dotted the balloons and stickled and used embroidery floss for the strings.  The ribbon is from my stash, I’m pretty sure it is from Hobby Lobby.

A Very Special Project

Today’s post is the start to many post to come of a very special project I’ve been working on.  This July will be my parent’s 40th wedding anniversary.  I wanted to make something special for them.  So, I made a scrapbook that will be titled, “The Story of Us”.  I haven’t actually put the book together yet.  The pages are without photos so my mom and dad can pick pictures and also do the journaling to tell their story for generations to come!

So, on to the first page!DSC05466

The tree is cut from Create a Critter, the base of the tags is cut from TBBM, the title is cut with MTC and I used a Fiskars punch for the grass and a Stampin’ Up punch for the top of the tags.

DSC05468

The tree trunk is embossed with a Tim Holtz embossing folder, “Notebook”.  I actually put the tree inside the folder on the diagonal so it looked a little less like a “notebook”.  Everything is inked with Ranger Distress Ink in Walnut.

For the entire book I used paper from the  “La Crème” DCWV stack as the base for each layout and for some of the photo mats.

So, what do you think?  Want to see more?  Boy, have I got more!!!

“I Love Apples” Layout

Today’s layout is of my DD who absolutely loves apples.  She loves picking apples off our tree and eating them while she’s playing outside.

DSC05374

The apples and the apple tree are cut from the Country Life cartridge.  The title is cut with MTC, as is the journaling square.

Glossy Affects add just the right touch to these apples, don’t ya think??

Too Cute Layout

Today’s Layout is of my DS posing with a crazy hairdo.  He is still a baby.  I miss those days, especially since he’s my last!  I originally hesitated about scrapping these pictures for the stupidest reason.  Please let me share and encourage you to cherish and scrap every moment!  If you notice the wall, you’ll see that the drywall is not finished.  We were in the process of re-doing our bedroom walls and the drywall was not complete.  Isn’t that just goofy!  Never be embarrassed!  Scrap it all!

DSC05371

The tree and the little birdie are from Create a Critter and the worm is from Walk in my Garden.   The title is cut with MTC, as is the journaling box.

Enjoy and God Bless!

Campfire Layout

Here’s another layout with the Imagine.  First, I must explain the pictures!  My family is hilarious!  My husband hates having his picture taken, so he always does something goofy when I take his picture (like stick his tongue out).  Also, my DD wanted s’mores but we weren’t making them this night.  So, she snuck in the house and made her own in the microwave!

DSC05352

This adorable paper is some from my stash, but I have no idea what it is, sorry!  Anyway, I used some notebook paper (the kind from the craft store, lol) to journal on.  I just hand-wrote the tile out with a Bic Mark-It pen.  I love those pens!  The grass is Bazzill’s, I tore it then inked it with Ranger Distress Ink in Walnut.  I also inked the Imagine images with the same ink.   All cuts are from the Nursery Tales Imagine cartridge.  Here’s a couple of close ups!

DSC05355DSC05357

I also wanted to add some scrappy advice…

DSC05358

Whenever I mat a layout on another piece of paper I cut the center of the paper out so I can use it later.  Actually on this layout I used it to mat the photos.

Picnic Layout

I have been totally neglecting my blog lately.  I have been overwhelmed with trying to figure out my Imagine and I have a project I’m working on for my parents.  Those two things have consumed most of my crafting time, which isn’t a lot of time anyway.

Here’s a layout using the Imagine.  The cartridge I used was the Imagine more cartridge.  I love using my Imagine, now that I’ve figured it out (for the most part!!).

DSC05342DSC05343Here’s a couple of pictures of the individual elements on the cartridge.  I switched some of the elements up a little.  For example, on this journaling tag I changed the scalloped shape to a strawberry.  I also changed the background to the tablecloth-looking material to match the theme.  Whenever you change things up, you have to cut in layers instead of a solid image.  I also used some Glossy Affects to add some shine to the strawberry and the butterflies.

DSC05347

DSC05351

I also changed the border to match the journaling tag.  I love that you can make everything coordinate so well with the Imagine.  The plaid background paper is from the DCWV “All About Boys” stack and the solid blue paper is Bazzills cardstock.

The title is cut from Make the Cuts.  I know there is so much drama associated with MTC and SCAL right now, but I simply love MTC when it comes to layout titles.  I use these programs to simply enhance my creative projects.  Okay, ‘nuff said, right?!

Enjoy and God bless!
